Sweden Melody

Scandinavian Contemporary

Koramangala, Bengaluru2022

Sweden Melody takes its name from the Scandinavian design language at its core — light oak and birch wood tones, soft natural textiles, and an uncluttered, function-first layout that lets daylight move freely through the home.

For this Koramangala residence, Renova Studio worked closely with the client to balance the warmth of natural materials with a calm, minimal palette, creating rooms that feel both editorial and genuinely livable.

Every material was chosen for tactility as much as looks: matte metal fixtures, woven jute and wool rugs, and leather and ceramic accents that age gracefully over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What defines a Scandinavian contemporary interior?

Scandinavian contemporary design favors light wood tones, neutral and muted colour palettes, natural textiles, and uncluttered layouts that maximise daylight. Function and comfort are prioritised over ornamentation, with every piece earning its place in the room.

Why use light wood tones like oak and birch in interiors?

Oak and birch reflect light well, which keeps rooms feeling bright and airy even with limited natural light. They also age gracefully and pair naturally with neutral textiles, making them a long-term, low-maintenance choice for Indian homes.

How long did the Sweden Melody project take to complete?

A full home transformation in this style, from concept sketches and 3D visualization through to material procurement and on-site supervision, typically spans a few months depending on the scope of carpentry and renovation work involved.

How do you maintain natural materials like jute rugs and leather accents?

Natural materials need routine, gentle care — regular vacuuming for jute and wool rugs, and periodic conditioning for leather accents. Our team shares a simple maintenance guide with every client at handover.
